Treatable cases at Autograph Dental in Cambridge

Unfortunately, our teeth are almost never naturally perfect and this can cause problems with chewing, oral hygiene, speaking and aesthetics.

The most common orthodontic problem is called malocclusion, or ‘bad bite’, and can be a genetic problem. A bad bite can also be caused by childhood thumb or finger-sucking, mouth breathing, dental disease, abnormal swallowing, poor dental hygiene, the early or late loss of baby teeth, accidents or poor nutrition. Trauma and other medical conditions such as birth defects may contribute to orthodontic problems as well. If you are concerned about you or your children's teeth - start by talking to your regular dentist. However, if you know that you want to get you or your child's teeth straightened, please contact us to arrange an initial consultation.

Early treatment

Early treatment

Orthodontic problems can affect anyone but the good news is that most issues can be treated at any age. However, it is best for problems to be corrected as early as possible so the they do not persist and cause more damage to the teeth or gums.

A fixed appliance is the most common type of orthodontic brace. Most patients require the use of fixed orthodontic appliances to straighten their teeth and achieve the best possible improvement of their smile.

Clear aligners

Clear aligners

Clear aligners such as the Invisalign aligner system straighten teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner approximately every week, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
